Based in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, Bonnie has been an SEO copywriter, content strategist and marketing advisor for more than a decade. She loves helping companies recognize and capitalize on their special something – the advantage none of their competitors can claim.

Here’s her secret motivation—a fixation on marketing as customer service. “I really hate we-we-we marketing,” she says. “All that boasting is like a first date who only talks about themselves. I really focus on looking at it from the prospect’s viewpoint and giving them what they need to make decisions.”

 

Across the business spectrum

Always a marketing enthusiast, Bonnie earned a marketing and journalism degree and then took a winding road into the field. She sold computer systems, worked in customer service for a data storage firm, did small business accounting and wrote for a San Francisco marcom and PR agency.

She also freelanced for magazines, writing travel, business, profile and arts articles.

 

In the community

Bonnie has served on the San Rafael Chamber board for several years and was recently appointed to the downtown Business Improvement District board. She was on the advisory committee of EcoFair Marin, a green festival hosted in conjunction with the City of San Rafael. A graduate of the San Rafael Leadership Institute, she heartily recommends it for the high-profile Marin speakers on hot topics of community interest.

 

Way back when

Bonnie grew up in the Rockies of Montana and the plains of Wyoming. After college, she moved to San Francisco and married a man from Tokyo.

She loves trying to live like the locals when she travels. Other interests include dancing, painting, meeting unusual people and having a hefty reserve of good books. Bonnie and her husband are the proud parents of two kind, compassionate people.
